98% of error 7's are not server issues. These are errors received when network lag drops the connection. There's been an issue with one of the ISP's the servers are hosted on. These are out of Anet's hands, but they can pressure the ISP to fix it as soon as possible.

Run the GW network diagnostic tool and submit the results to Anet support. It will help them track down the issues and fix what they can on thier end.

Thank you for giving some recommended action. I had never had recurring lag issues up until 2 days ago. I have sworn off teaming with others because I do not want to screw over the party with yet another err7. I will run the diag tool tonight and look forward to a happy ending... I am mostly perplexed that the problem is soo short, but yet soo catastrophic. I can deal with lag (have learned to cope with it), but err7 screws my friends that I team with. I hate the thought that they would have been better off with a hench or even worse a PUG.

p.s. I do not see the connection from the "Special events" to the lag issues. My err7s started late on Sunday and continued to last night. So the ISP server issue noted above, makes alot more sense to me.
